An Open Invitation

Dig out the ground, flip over the wheelbarrow and rake the sand. Set out the balls and bats, trucks and dolls, buckets and shovels, and build the playground. A place for dreams and faraway lands, heroes and dragons, and stories and songs. A place for all to imagine, to laugh, and to love. Building this playground is the work to be done. This is our work. Places4 was born from the belief that all people should have the opportunity to live in a place where they thrive and prosper regardless of color, background, or economic circumstance. It is an invitation to come together and dig in the sand to build the places for all.  

Places4 is a collective of people from across different communities and backgrounds, people passionate about making the world a better place. We are dedicated to the service of others and using our hearts, minds, and talents to change the world one block, one community at a time. 

I am, Jeff Sharpe, the founder of Places4. I am an architect, designer, father, brother. I pioneered a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach to design. Years in the making, we put it into practice for one of the leading design consultancies in the world bringing together physical and digital design, storytelling, and architecture to create fully orchestrated and meaningful human experiences.

Our global reach allowed our team to create transformative experiences and places across every sector including hospitality, retail, workplace, museum, healthcare, urban design, and social practice. Each project had the same fundamental belief and focus - to build the stage for people to live, work and play in a place of joy, hope and dignity. It has taken a lifetime of failures and triumphs, of wondering, fighting, of giving up and standing back up to come to this place and know that it is the power of design and the power of people that can make a real difference. 

This isn’t business as usual, we know business doesn’t have space for love, but it’s what we need most. Places4 is one seed of a movement that many have been fighting for a very long time. Places4 all the people, all the time.
